"Lokas samastas sukhino bhavatu"
(May all beings everywhere be happy and free. And may the thoughts and actions of my life - in some way - contribute to that happiness and freedom for all beings.)

Established in 2005, Harmony is a beautiful spiritual space dedicated to yoga and dance through practice, community service and global outreach.

Our goal has always been to provide a haven whereby the body, mind and spirit can unite to find a sense of balance ~ harmony.  We are looking to create beauty from the inside out through yoga and dance ~ a space for all people of all ages.

We offer various levels of yoga and wonderful styles of dance.

Our comfortable 1700 sq. ft. studio is conveniently located in downtown New Milford, minutes from Routes 7, 202 and 67.  Ample free parking is available.  We operate like many other studios in that we are only open during our class times.  If you would like to stop by the studio, instructors are available a few minutes before and after class. Otherwise, the best way to talk with someone is to leave a phone message or use email.

Harmony

In nature, as in life, we look to find a balance, a sense of harmony. There are many beliefs that embrace this feeling of harmony, the essential yin and yang of all beings. For us, harmony means a coming together of two or more souls, opinions, thoughts, or feelings - to blend together, appreciate one another, to compliment one another, to become more together than we can be alone, to be connected as a whole. It also means the gathering together in peace and friendship. All of us here at Harmony invite you to seek that balance with us so that together we can more fully embrace all that life has to offer!

Yoga

The Sanskrit word yoga is derived from the root yuj which means to yoke to create union of the body, mind and spirit, bringing one into closer harmony with one’s true nature.

In Hatha Yoga classes, the student practices asanas (physical postures) and pranayama (breath awareness) along with dhyana (meditation). This improves functioning of respiratory, circulatory, digestive and hormonal systems enhancing emotional stability and clarity of mind. The student learns to connect to their own inner wisdom where body, mind and soul unite.

Sacred Dance

There was a time dance was considered an expression of our spirituality. Dancing is an opportunity to reunite the body, mind and soul, celebrating life's' journey, the seasons and rhythms of the year, and the rhythms of our lives.

Harmony's dance classes awaken our sense of spirit through movement, music and laughter. Dance becomes a language that creates a sense of community.
